Choose the supply scope: parts, panel sets or assemblies
Custom sheet metal fabrication can start with an individual part or a drawing package containing several parts. Before comparing suppliers, decide what you want to receive: separate fabricated parts, a coordinated set of panels and covers, or an assembly with defined interfaces. These are different quotation scopes even when they belong to the same machine.
For individual OEM parts, identify which drawing defines each item and how the items are used together. For a panel set, distinguish the panels and covers to be supplied from the equipment they attach to. For an assembly, separate the fabricated metalwork from bought-in hardware or components, and identify which assembly tasks you want reviewed. An assembly request does not by itself confirm that every component or operation is included.

Match the fabrication route to the order
The Suzhou manufacturing team combines laser cutting, tube laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, gantry machining and assembly. Identify the operations your drawing calls for and review them against the equipment list; a project does not necessarily use every process. Material, thickness, dimensions and tolerances still require drawing-level confirmation.
High-temperature bake painting is completed in-house. Powder coating is completed by selected partners; returned parts are checked for color, film thickness and adhesion. Confirm the finish and its responsibility in the quotation rather than assuming all finishing is done at the same site.
Sourcing from China: know the manufacturing and coordination roles
The manufacturing team is in Xiangcheng District, Suzhou, China. Steadfab connects international procurement teams with that team, with direct engineer communication and one accountable project owner.
Before ordering, confirm the party named in the quotation and order, the manufacturing location, and who is responsible for any outside processes. Review supplier identity and current credential copies using the sourcing sheet metal from China checklist. Factory-reported credentials should be checked against their holder, scope and validity; they are not product approvals.
